By Aydan Corkern Babysitting can be boring or it can be fun sometimes. Depending on what age you are babysitting there certain things you can do with them. If you are watching kids from five to twelve you can do a lot of things. Kids five to twelve are usually very active ad energetic and always want to be doing something. So to help when your bored and babysitting here are some ideas. Watching a movie is a great idea because it just passes the time by quickly. Any movie appropriate for this age group will work. Disney movies for example are perfect for watching. Another thing you can do, if it is nice outside, is play some football.
I would not recommend the regular tackle football, because if your watching boys they can get pretty competitive. So touch football would be a better choice. Also playing baseball and soccer are two more sports that are fun! You could also play capture the flag, if there are enough kids, if not you could play Frisbee, which is always fun! If it is summer and you are babysitting you could even take them up to the pool for a few hours and let them swim, get some energy out. Swimming real tires kids out after a few hours. But remember to always pay attention to them and watch them so that they do not get hurt or in trouble. If you have had enough of being outside there are more things you can do inside then just watching a movie. You could play any game that the kids have at their house or you could even play cards. If they do not how to play cards, teaching them is also a fun thing to do. Once everyone gets hungry you can make lunch and eat. You could even make some cookies or cakes if you want for something else to do. If the kids have a Playstation, Xbox, or Wii you could also play with them for a while to keep them quite and occupied for a few hours. No matter what you do while you baby-sit, doing what the kids want is the smartest way to go. It is smart because you do not have to hear them whining that they are bored. Remember that when babysitting you cannot just sit there and watch TV, you have to be interactive with the kids so that they are having fun and are not unhappy.
